These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website and services provided by CompressPDFtoAnySize (“we”, “us”, or “our”), accessible at compresspdftoanysize.com.

By creating an account or using our service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The Service

CompressPDFtoAnySize provides an online PDF compression tool that reduces the file size of PDF documents. We also offer browser-based tools — Merge (/merge) and Split (/split) — that run entirely in your web browser on your device. Files processed by these tools are never uploaded to our servers. Compression features are available both as a free tier and as a paid subscription (Pro plan). The service is provided “as-is” and “as available”.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice where possible. We will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users of significant changes.

2. Account Registration

2.1 Creating an Account

An account is required to use the service. You must create an account using a valid email address and password, or by signing in via Google, through Firebase Authentication. Account creation is free and places you on the Free plan by default.

2.2 Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must not share your account with others or use another person's account.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

2.3 Account Termination by You

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon closure, your account data will be deleted. Any remaining subscription period will not be refunded unless required by law.

2.4 Account Suspension by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice if you:

• Violate these Terms.
• Attempt to abuse, circumvent, or exploit the service or its rate limits.
• Engage in fraudulent payment activity.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

3. Subscription Plans and Limits

We offer two subscription tiers. Limits are enforced automatically by the service:

Pricing for users in India is available in INR and displayed dynamically based on your detected location. Page quota resets every 30 days for monthly subscribers and every 365 days for yearly subscribers.

4. Payments and Billing

4.1 Payment Processor

All payments are processed by DodoPayments, our third-party payment provider. By subscribing to the Pro plan, you agree to DodoPayments' terms of service and privacy policy. We do not store your credit or debit card information on our servers.

4.2 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorise DodoPayments to charge your chosen payment method at each renewal.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Subscription page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to Pro features until that date. We do not offer partial-period refunds upon cancellation.

4.4 Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has begun, except:

• Where the service is unavailable for an extended period due to causes attributable to us and not outside our reasonable control — in which case you may contact us to request a pro-rata refund within 14 days of the billing date.
• Where required by the mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction.

4.5 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, your account may be downgraded to the Free plan until payment is successfully processed. We are not responsible for consequences arising from failed payments due to issues with your payment method.

4.6 Taxes

Prices are displayed excluding applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your subscription in your jurisdiction.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Upload files that contain illegal, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful content.
• Upload files that infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or quota enforcement through automated scripts, bots, or other programmatic means that exceed the documented API limits.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of our service.
• Use the service to develop or train competing AI or machine learning systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the infrastructure supporting the service.
• Share your account credentials or allow others to use your account.
• Resell or redistribute the service without our prior written consent.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

6. Your Files and Content

6.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership and all intellectual property rights in any PDF files you upload or process. We claim no ownership over your files. PDFs you process using our in-browser Merge or Split tools are never uploaded to our servers — all processing occurs locally on your device and the resulting files exist only in your browser.

6.2 Licence to Process

By uploading a file, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, temporary licence to process that file solely for the purpose of delivering the compression service to you. This licence terminates when your file is deleted (automatically or manually).

6.3 File Deletion

Uploaded files are automatically deleted within 2 hours of upload. Because our cleanup job runs every 30 minutes, the absolute maximum time a file can remain on our servers is 2 hours 30 minutes. You can delete files immediately via the My Data page. We are not responsible for any loss arising from file deletion — please keep a copy of your original file.

6.4 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content of the files you upload. You represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to upload and process those files.
• The files do not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
• The files do not contain illegal or harmful content.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from the content of your files.

7. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure a fair and reliable service for all users, compression requests are rate-limited:

• Free plan: 5 compression requests per minute.
• Pro plan: 20 compression requests per minute.

Exceeding these limits will result in a temporary block (HTTP 429). The service is intended for human use — automated bulk compression is not permitted on any plan unless you have a separate written agreement with us.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, algorithms, branding, design, and content comprising the CompressPDFtoAnySize service (excluding your files) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights over our intellectual property other than the limited right to use the service as described herein.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• Compression results will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
• The service will be available in every country or region.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $10 USD.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for gross negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.

11. Third-Party Services

Our service integrates with the following third-party services whose own terms and policies apply:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication. Governed by Firebase Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.
• DodoPayments: Payment processing. Governed by DodoPayments' terms and privacy policy.
• Google Analytics: Usage analytics. Governed by Google Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services.

12. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify registered users by email. Continued use of the service after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the service and may cancel your subscription.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally — please contact us first before initiating any formal proceedings.

Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
